Croatia is quite an amazing country because the atmosphere there truly allows you to clear your mind and gaze at a clear horizon without even realizing it, day after day. I took the opportunity to work on the Iram album, starting from the modular synthesizer bases I had recorded. The idea was to build on these bases with the many modular sessions I had done, structuring everything and working on a precise setup in Ableton. I aimed to be creative and explore tools that allowed me to achieve certain essential textures, especially for creating rhythms.
The remaining work mostly involves the vocals; I've written the lyrics, and sometimes I even got them mixed up in the files and writings I made. But this mosaic of words will ultimately lead to a very important and fitting arrangement for these 10 songs.
I must admit that returning to Paris has been quite difficult. If I were to truly make the choice that's mine to make, I would leave and live as a nomad, given that I'm not a sedentary person, except maybe in a small space—I'd say about 30 square meters—to work on my albums.
I really have a dream of one day living near a lake in a small wooden house, like a cabin or perhaps a shed, somewhere in the north, in a country like Finland. So, this return is quite tough, but working on this album is helping me maintain a rhythm of life that is both essential and indispensable. However, I believe there are still filters or obstacles today that prevent us from being completely free, at various levels and for most people, even if many don't realize it.
A lot of things are beyond us. I continue, on my part, with learning, reading, analysis, understanding, and inspiration. on Sufism and Arab mysticism, which is very important and even very avant-garde compared to Christian orthodoxy, posing in parallel some truly remarkable sacred insights.
So, the album will be ready by the end of October, and I plan to release it on October 31st.
