The Olympic Games begin in three days, and I must admit that it is truly a very interesting event that can bring about a lot of changes, possibly even altering neighborhoods and perhaps mindsets. It's a significant event, and it's certain to bring a lot of things. Several surprises and various participants, like Snoop Dogg and Céline Dion, have been announced. It might seem silly, but it isn't at all; on the contrary, it's a humanistic momentum in a country that represents human rights. I think there's a lot to be proud of because many things are inactive for the entire French population. It's not important to consider political debates, conflicts, or anything else. I believe this is truly an opportunity to forget these issues and to genuinely experience things differently or just naturally, as it is a very restorative momentum. It's an event with both spectators and athletes who have trained for years. It's truly vital, and it's very good news.
As for me, I’m taking advantage of this period in Paris because it brings an energy I did not expect, and I’m rediscovering the neighborhood where I live and the city I’ve been in for 21 years. I'm quite proud to be living just 400 meters from everything that's going to happen. This naturally includes changes in daily life, but it's really not a big deal. Let's be serious; it's a real opportunity and something extremely beneficial. I don’t even want to talk about the naysayers and people who criticize everything happening because, in the end, they are people who have chosen not to be happy. That's a big mistake because life allows for many accomplishments and to be interested in even small details. But in this case, it's a significant detail. It’s a true celebration, and we need to seek out the source of happiness. This event brings many inspiring things that will lead to very positive outcomes.
I have returned from Ibiza and I’m staying in Paris. I was planning to go to Trogir in Croatia, but I’m still hesitating, partly because it needs to be financially viable and purposeful. I’m taking my time; I know that if I need to go, I will go. In the meantime, I’m recording a lot. The current idea is to highlight parts of modular synthesizers to use them later or keep sequences and simply build an entire piece. I still have the same title in mind for the album, which will be called “Back to Iram,” named after a lost city. I am, of course, continuing to study Sufi mysticism.
In resonance with this spiritual journey, I also find it wonderful that the Olympic Games allow people of all religions and backgrounds to participate in such a grand event. The album will be deeply influenced by these experiences, and I’m very happy about that. I plan to take advantage of every important stay to record at the same time and to soak in all the atmosphere and phenomena that will occur. Every day, I thank God for living in this neighborhood and being so close to such an important event.
